Frequently asked questions
How is a prop firm payout calculated?
Your payout is usually the profit you request multiplied by your profit split, for example 90% of $2,000 is $1,800. Some firms keep a buffer on the account or apply a cap per payout, which this simple calculator does not model.
Which costs should I subtract?
Count the evaluation fee, any activation fee, data or platform fees while you trade, and resets. Only after those is the account actually in profit for you.
Does the profit split change over time?
Some firms raise the split after several payouts or on bigger accounts. Enter the split that applies to the payout you are planning.
These calculators use simplified, textbook versions of each rule and are not financial advice. Always read the firm’s own rules.
