What minimum trading days are
A minimum trading days rule says you must trade on at least a set number of days before you can pass, even if you reach the target sooner. It exists to stop one lucky day from passing an evaluation.
Among products that have the rule, the median is 4 days and the maximum 13 days.
Worked example
FTMO 1-Step 100K has a $10,000 target and no minimum days. In theory a single good day passes it. In practice, chasing the target in one day means risking a large share of the $10,000 drawdown at once, and many firms with no minimum days have a consistency rule or a funded-stage winning-day rule instead.
Check the consistency column: a 50% rule (as on this product) can require more total profit after a big day.
Winning days for payouts are separate
Many firms with no minimum days in the evaluation still require a number of winning days (with a minimum profit each) before each payout on the funded account. That rule is on the payout page and on each firm page.
FAQ
Can I pass a prop firm challenge in one day?
At firms with no minimum trading days, yes, if you reach the target without breaking a rule. A consistency rule may still require more profit after one large day.
Why do firms set minimum trading days?
To make sure a pass reflects more than one lucky day. Some firms replace the rule with a consistency rule.
Do funded accounts have minimum days?
Often in the form of winning days before each payout, for example five days with a set minimum profit.
Is no minimum days better for beginners?
Not necessarily. Trading to finish fast increases risk. It mainly helps experienced traders who hit targets quickly.
