Why the time limit matters
A time limit forces you to reach the target within a set number of days (often 30 per phase where one exists). That pushes traders to size up near the end, which is when most accounts fail. Without a limit you can stop trading in bad conditions and wait.
Among products that do have a limit, the limits we verified run from 1 to 180 days.
No time limit + monthly billing
6 firms on this list bill the evaluation monthly (Elite Trader Funding, Leeloo Trading, OneUp Trader, Phoenix Trader Funding, Take Profit Trader, UProfit). There, “no time limit” means you can keep going, but every month costs another fee. The real deadline is your budget.
Inactivity rules
Firms without a time limit usually close accounts that are not traded for a period (for example 30 days without a trade). Check the inactivity rule on the firm page if you plan to pause.

Do prop firm evaluations expire?
Some do: a few forex and CFD evaluations set a limit per phase. Most firms in our data have no time limit on the products listed here.
Is no time limit always better?
For the trading itself, yes: it removes pressure. With monthly billing it can still cost more the longer you take.
Can my account be closed for not trading?
Yes, many firms close accounts after a period of inactivity even when there is no time limit. The table shows the published inactivity limit.
Does no time limit apply to both phases of a 2-step?
At the firms listed it applies to the product as a whole. If a firm sets different limits per phase, the firm page notes it.
